Fun gift for my nephew he loved it and wanted more. The battery lasted long enough to the point where he would get bored of it before it died. It wasn’t too noisy unless you turned on the little speakers on it buys it’s good quality and I’d buy it again

Fun kit for the 8 year old. Book is a bit hard to read for a kid but the instructions come with a QR code that links to a video demonstrating how the trick looks and how to perform. The video doesn't show all the tricks in the kit though. These tricks are pretty well known so the kid can look how how to do it on youtube

AEROQUEST remote control cars: choosing the right one

A remote control car is one of the few toys that a 2-year-old and a 12-year-old both understand at a glance. The trick is matching the car to the driver. Here is how we think about our own range.

Start with the driver's age, not the car

For toddlers from about 18 months, speed is not the point. Our first cars for toddlers — the dinosaur and unicorn two-packs, the pickup truck, the police cars, fire trucks and the ambulance — use big, simple buttons, slow speeds and lights and sounds that reward every press. Most have an automatic sleep mode, so batteries survive the moment the driver wanders off to do something else.

From about three years old, kids can handle a real steering remote. That is where our 1:24 licensed supercars come in: small enough to race around chair legs, light enough to survive a fall from the sofa, and detailed enough that a Lamborghini still looks like a Lamborghini.

1:24, 1:16 or 1:14 — what the scale changes

Scale is the fraction of the real car's size. A 1:24 car is roughly the length of a hand and lives indoors. A 1:16 car is noticeably bigger, runs faster (around 12 km/h on several models) and starts to make sense on a driveway or a patio. A 1:14 car is our flagship size: opening scissor or dihedral doors, working lights front and back, adjustable speed up to 15 km/h and enough presence to sit on a shelf when the race is over.

If two kids will race each other, buy the same scale. Mixed scales are fun for about one lap, then the bigger car wins every time.

AA batteries or rechargeable?

Our 1:24 cars take AA cells — three in the car, two in the remote — which makes them easy to keep running and easy to hand to a grandparent. Several 1:16 cars ship with all six AA batteries already in the box, so they work the minute they are unwrapped. The rechargeable 1:16 Lamborghinis carry two battery packs for well over an hour and a half of combined driving, and the 1:14 cars include rechargeable packs as well.

Gesture stunt cars all charge over USB or USB-C. A full charge gives roughly 50 minutes on most models, up to 60 minutes on the twist car and the spherical-wheel car with their two batteries.

When a gesture stunt car is the better gift

Some kids do not want a replica; they want tricks. Our gesture cars come with a normal 2.4GHz remote and a wearable sensor — tilt your hand and the car follows. They spin 360°, drive sideways, and several models add lights, engine sounds and a water-mist spray effect. The spherical-wheel car goes further, with wheels that tilt from 30° to 90° for drifts and sideways runs.

Gesture cars suit ages four to twelve and work best on smooth floors or short grass. For a child who already owns a licensed replica, a gesture car is the most different second car you can add.

How many cars can race at once

Every AEROQUEST remote runs on 2.4GHz and pairs with its own car, so ten or more cars can share a room without interference. That makes birthday races simple: one car per child, a strip of tape for a start line, and a lap around the kitchen island.

Questions about AEROQUEST RC cars

What age is an AEROQUEST RC car for?

Our toddler cars start at 18 months, the 1:24 licensed cars from about 3, gesture stunt cars from 4 to 12, and the rechargeable 1:16 and 1:14 cars suit ages 6 and up, though younger drivers manage them with a grown-up nearby.

Are the supercars officially licensed?

Yes. Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren, Audi and Ford replicas are made under licence; most boxes carry an anti-counterfeit label or a certificate of authenticity.

Can I use another remote for my car?

No — each remote is paired with its own car on 2.4GHz. That pairing is exactly what lets several cars race in one room without interfering.

Which cars come with batteries?

The 1:16 Porsche GT3 RS, Ford Shelby and F-150 Raptor ship with six AA batteries. Rechargeable 1:16 and 1:14 cars and all gesture cars include their batteries. 1:24 cars and toddler cars need AA cells bought separately.

How long does a charge last?

About 50 minutes on most gesture cars, up to 60 minutes on the twist and spherical-wheel cars, around 40–50 minutes on the 1:14 cars and over 100 minutes across both packs of the rechargeable 1:16 Lamborghinis.

Do the cars work outside?

The 1:16 cars and the F-150 Raptor handle driveways, patios, gravel and short grass. 1:24 cars and toddler cars are happiest on smooth indoor floors.
